Hey there! 👋
Welcome to New York City Tourist Tips & Tricks – a little project that started with a simple idea: let’s get to know this amazing city and help others fall in love with it too.
It all began in our Facebook group, which has now grown to over 80,000 members from all around the world. A bunch of us – locals, tourists, expats, and people who simply adore NYC – were asking questions, sharing cool finds, complaining about bad pizza, and getting way too excited over a good subway shortcut. Over time, it turned into a community. People helping people. Recommending places. Warning about tourist traps. Sharing those weird, awesome moments you only get in New York.
So we thought, why not build a website? Somewhere we could gather all the stuff we’ve learned (and are still learning) – the best places to stay, hidden gem restaurants, how to survive Times Square without losing your mind, where to get a real New York slice, and how to not get lost underground on your first subway ride.
This site isn’t run by a company or a big travel brand. We’re just people who love this city – whether we live here, used to live here, or are just passing through and fell in love with it.
We’ve got guides for hotels, neighborhoods, food, taxis, and more. We’ve got stories, tips, and honest advice. No fluff. No BS. Just real talk from real people who’ve been there, done that, and probably got lost once or twice along the way.
We also try to bring folks together – guides, travelers, solo adventurers, families. If you’ve got a story, a tip, or even a question, jump in.
New York can be overwhelming. But it’s also magic. And it’s a lot more fun when we explore it together.
See you out there. ❤
